About Us We are a small non-profit organization started and run by the family and friends of Jim Haberl, tragically killed in a climbing accident in April 1999. This organization and the works it produces is intended as a memorial and a tribute to Jim. The Goal of the Jim Haberl Fund is the establishment and maintenance of projects for the benefit of outdoor enthusiasts, climbers, hikers, and others who enjoy the wilderness in non-environmentally impactful ways. We have established this fund in memory of Jim Haberl, whose short life was dedicated the the pursuit and sharing of adventure in the mountains and in wild places all over the globe. Jim pushed himself to excel at guiding, his chosen vocation, and was generous to a fault in sharing with others his passion for the mountains, his experiences, knowledge and humour. As much as anything, Jim taught us to push our belief in what each of us is capable of accomplishing and to see beauty and grace in ourselves and the world around us. It is to the memory and ideals of this remarkable man we pay tribute through works and projects that benefit the environment and those who pursue their passions there. |
